Father's Day

I could not have more proud of my son this past weekend as he completed his running group for the summer. All told, he ran 7.5 miles this summer and I'm sure there were some left off his tally sheet. The experience of the program was priceless for me as a dad and I was grateful for the chance to coach him and other kids too. It was a blast.

It's hard to describe the feeling, or do it justice, but when he was running around the track for his final lap on Sunday, his face was beet red from the heat and humidity. His arms swinging up and down like a pendulum, encircling his little body and he chugged toward the parents and coaches "cheer tunnel." His face was beaming and he was grinning ear to ear. He got his 3rd medal for running, a cupcake, and an awards certificate. I hope he continues to have fun with it. That's what it is important to me.
